02. what is the difference between 2G and 3G?
ans: major differences between 2G and 3G network discussed below:

04. how do we know if someone is under 3G coverage?
ans: you can check it from your handset’s network status bar. if you are in 3G coverage area, beside network status bar 3, 3G/h or even HSPA will be highlighted. 

05. do we need to change the sim for availing 3G service?
ans: no; you can upgrade to banglalink 3G through your existing banglalink sim.

06. what will be the procedure of availing 3G service?
ans: to avail 3G you need to subscribe to any of the available 3G pack to available in banglalink 3G and have a 3G compatible mobile handset or dongle. also, you need to be within the 3G coverage area.

07. will banglalink 3G configuration be like 2G (like same apn & handset configuration etc.)?
ans: the banglalink 3G configuration will be same as your 2G configuration. you only need to subscribe to a 3G data pack to avail the 3G services.  

08. will there be any additional service charge for 3G?
ans: we intend to provide our subscribers the best value for their money. hence, you will be able to choose from a very wide range of 3G services at an affordable price. 

09. what will be the speed of banglalink 3G while accessing internet?
ans: the speed of banglalink 3G is dependent on several factors such as site or application being used, device capability, location of the user, distance from bts, time of usage, network traffic, and number of users on the 3G service at the particular hour. 


10. will banglalink 3G services be offered in pre-paid & post-paid both at initial launch? 
ans: yes it will work both in pre-paid and post-paid connections.

11. will there be any special customer service for 3G users?
ans: banglalink will offer superior customer service through the existing helpline and other customer touchpoints. however, to aid you more, we have a dedicate careline team to serve the data users.

12. will there be any issue with speed of banglalink 3G as banglalink has bought bandwidth of 5mhz?
ans: speed is not directly dependent on bandwidth. banglalink is using the latest 3G technology- HSPA which provides high speed internet.

13. when a customer enters from a 3G area to a non 3G area, will the switchover be automatic from 3G to 2G or vice versa? 
ans:  you can select any of the following from the network settings section of your 3G enabled mobile handset
  • if you have selected "both wcdma and gsm" option from network settings, your 3G enabled mobile handset will automatically switch over to gsm while moving from 3G to 2G and vice versa.
  • if you have selected "wcdma only" option from network settings, you will be out of all mobile services while you move out from 3G to 2G network coverage. in that case, you need to select either "both wcdma or gsm" or "gsm only" manually to avail 2G services again

14. do i need a separate handset to use banglalink 3G services?
ans: yes, in order to use banglalink 3G services you need to have a handset which is compatible with banglalink’s 3G network. different 3G handsets have different speed capabilities, and for the best experience of banglalink 3G we recommend that you use an HSPA enabled handset.

15: how would i know if my handset is 3G compatible or not?
ans: if you are in banglalink 3G coverage area your handset display would display "3G", "3.5" or "h" on the top of the screen next to the network signal bars, this would mean that your phone is 3G compatible. you must also ensure that the phone settings are not set to ’2G/gsm only ’. you can also confirm your handset’s capability from the manufacturer’s website or www.banglalinkgsm.com.

16. if i need a new 3G phone then do i need to purchase it only from banglalink or any open market handset will also work fine? 
ans: it is not necessary to purchase a 3G device only from banglalink. you can buy the device from any open handset market. it is important for you  to ensure that your 3G device is 3G HSPA or HSPA+ compatible. alternatively, attractive banglalink 3G handset offers are also available for you.

17. i have a 3G handset and get into a zone which is 2.5g enabled. what will happen to my voice call / video call/ internet surfing / downloading of a music/video file?
ans: 
  • for voice call, it will continue from 3G to 2.5g and vice versa.
  • for video call, it drop from 3G to 2.5g
  • for data (internet surfing / downloading of a music/video file), service will continue from 3G to 2.5g and vice versa but in 2.5g area data speed will be slower than in 3G area.
18. what are the benefits of banglalink 3G?
ans: with banglalink 3G you should be able to do the following:

19. what are the plans & services on offer for 3G?
ans: heavy, medium or light, no matter what your usage is banglalink will offer attractive packs to choose from to match your needs of 3G. we will inform you about our packs when it will be ready.

20. i am already subscribed to banglalink internet’s 2G packs, will it work on 3G?
ans: banglalink will have separate 3G packs at higher speed. if you use any of banglalink internet’s 2G pac, you will need to subscribe to a 3G pack (via ussd/sms). 

21. do i need a specific type of handset for making a video call or can i use my existing 3G compatible device?
ans: in order to make a video call, it is necessary that your handset has a camera on the front side of the phone and supports 3G video call. please confirm with the store you purchase a new 3G handset whether it supports making 3G video calls.

22. do i consume any data when i make a 3G video call?
ans: making video calls on banglalink 3G will not use any data of banglalink 3G. you would be billed according to the number of minutes spoken multiplied by the rate per minute. the rate of video call will be communicated during the time of launch.

23. what are the charges to be paid for making a 3G video call?
ans: the charges will be on a per minute basis and will be communicated at the time of the launch.

24. can i make a 3G video call to other operator customer having a 3G phone & 3G service of other operator?
ans: you would be only able to make video calls to only those who are using banglalink 3G.

25. is it necessary for both the parties to have a 3G phone to make & receive 3G video calls?
ans: both the parties needs to have a 3G phone with dual camera which supports 3G video calling & connected to subscribed to banglalink 3G.

26. what is a 3G data card / usb dongles?
ans: 3G data cards/ usb dongles are modems that support 2100 mhz band.

27. what are the different services available on banglalink 3G network?
ans: we are preparing exciting value added service to make your experience richer with banglalink 3G. we will communicate them once launched.

28. what happens when i move from 3G to 2G network?
ans: when you would move from 3G to 2G network then all of banglalink’s 3G services- like video call, high speed data, mobile tv, will not be available; you’d then enjoy all basic 2G service like you do now. while, you’d experience no bump in voice call you’d experience drop to 2G speeds for data.

29. will my existing banglalink data modem work on 3G?
ans: if you have purchased the banglalink data modem after february 2010, then it is already 3G capable.

30. is it possible to take voice call during internet surfing?
ans: you can browse internet or even download from net while you take voice calls at banglalink 3G.

31. how do i know that i am receiving a video call?
ans: the phone will indicate that is an incoming video call.

32. if i attempt to place a video call to another banglalink 3G subscriber who is unable to receive the video call due as s/he is in 2G coverage what will be the response the dialed person get?
ans: the 3G video call will not go through.

33. how many 3G packages will be available during the commercial launching?
ans: we are designing affordable banglalink 3G packs to fit your needs. this will be communicated before launching.

34. how will the customers activate these 3G packs?
ans: customers will activate as per regular process through different channels like ussd, sms, e care, mobile app.
